Pennfield Schools and University of Olivet Sign Agreement to Launch Olivet Direct! Program for Automatic College Admission
On Thursday, October 24th, Pennfield Schools and The University of Olivet formalized a transformative educational partnership through the Olivet Direct! program, establishing a direct path for Pennfield High School seniors to gain automatic admission to The University of Olivet. Present for the signing of the agreement was Pennfield Schools Superintendent Stephanie Lemmer, Pennfield High School Principal Noah Wilson, University of Olivet Director of Admission Lloyd McPartlin, and University of Olivet President Dr. Steven Corey. This initiative provides qualified students with a unique opportunity to continue their education seamlessly and access additional financial support based on their eligibility.
Under the agreement, Pennfield High School seniors who meet specific academic and application criteria will qualify for automatic admission to The University of Olivet. The criteria for Pennfield High School students to be qualified through the Olivet Direct! Program include the following:
Complete Core College Preparation Curriculum: Students must complete at least four English courses, three mathematics courses, three science courses, and three social studies courses (or study of a foreign language).
Minimum GPA: Students must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5.
Spring Graduation: Students must graduate from high school in the spring prior to entering college in the fall as new, full-time, first-time students.
The University of Olivet Application: Students must fully complete The University of Olivet application for admission.
FAFSA Submission: Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1st each year, listing The University of Olivet as their first-choice institution.
Alongside the Olivet Direct! Program, some Pennfield High School students may also qualify for the Olivet ADVANTAGE Scholarship. Pennfield High School students who meet the residency and financial eligibility requirements for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship and qualify for Pell Grants will be eligible for the Olivet ADVANTAGE Scholarship. This award, in combination with federal, state, and institutional grants, will cover at least the published tuition and general fees for the entering academic year. The ADVANTAGE award is renewable for up to four years, supporting students throughout their undergraduate studies.
